Sound training

29th - 31st October 2016

The Well Garden is delighted to once again be hosting Gong master, teacher, sound healer, author & musician Sheila Whittaker.

A rare opportunity in London: to attend an in-depth introduction to the Gong and its healing potential and to participate in an all-night Gong Puja; a truly transformational experience. Early booking is highly recommended.

After magical Spring & Autumn Equinox events hosted by Sheila, we'll gather with the Gongs to celebrate Samhain, the Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. The Well Garden is a hidden oasis amid colourful Hackney, specialising in yoga, sound and natural therapies.

Who can attend:

The Gong Intensive workshop is open to all who are drawn to the magnificent Gong: players looking to refresh their techniques; those interested in becoming a Gong practitioner or purchasing a Gong for personal spiritual practice.

Maybe you've been attending Gong baths and want to know more about the history and benefits of this powerful instrument…or you'd simply like to spend two days and a night in the healing vibration of the Gong space (who wouldn't)!

About Sheila:

Sheila is one of the main course tutors for the College of Sound Healing and runs the year-long Gong Practitioner Training for the College, plus other Gong and Sound Healing workshops. She has written two books about Gong playing and healing - Sound Healing with Gongs, and In the Heart of the Gong Space - which are available from her website and Amazon. Based in Devon, this may be the only opportunity to catch Sheila teaching in London this year.

About the 2 day workshop (Sat 29th Oct 12.30-7.30pm, Sun 30th Oct 10am – 5pm):

The two-day Gong Intensive is an immersion in the Gong teachings for a whole weekend. This weekend Intensive is open to both beginners and those who already play a little, and our work over the two days will be structured according to the needs of the participants. Various gong-related subjects will be covered including learning and practising techniques.

This is an ideal workshop for those who want to kick-start their gong experience and begin their gong journey with expert tuition in the powerful gong space! There will be plenty of opportunity to play the array of high quality Gongs in Sheila’s collection, to learn about other sound healing instruments involved in Gong playing and training in how to give a seated Gong bath.

Over the weekend participants will have ample opportunity to deepen their own personal experience with this powerful healing instrument.

About the Gong Puja (10pm Sunday 30th Oct til 7.30am Mon 31st Oct):

The all-night Gong Puja ceremony is open to those who have attended the two-day Gong Intensive workshop beforehand. Participants bring their bedding and sleep in the Gong Puja space while the Gongs are played throughout the night, everyone taking a turn.

This is a very profound and sacred healing experience, co-created by everyone taking part, and is also a great opportunity for beginner Gong players to participate in a Gong event and meet more experienced members of the Gong community.

We finish with a light breakfast, a chance to share experiences and transition out into the new day!

For sound practitoners, the weekend counts towards CPD and is also a College of Sound Healing extra module workshop for those doing the College training (please contact Sheila for an information flyer & further details). Sheila’s books and CD’s will be available to buy.

Price for Gong Intensive workshop alone: £200
Gong Intensive workshop + all-night Gong Puja incl breakfast: £230
